November 11, 2018 was the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice - the end of the First World War.   St. Simeon's joined churches across the country as we gathered to ring our Church Bell 100 times at sunset .  We talked  about the importance of remembering and of expressing our gratefulness to those many men and women who risked all they had  for our freedom - and continue to do so.  It was a moving experience to be a part of something so meaningful and to imagine the wave of bells tolling across the country.  In the quiet at the end of the ringing, we said prayers for peace.  We thank all of these wonderful people for attending.  Please click Read More for image of group of bell-ringers.

Bishops award 2017Congratulations to Hugh Mitchell, valued member of Holy Trinity Church in Lakefield of the Parish of the Lower Laurentians which is a part of Laurentian Regional Ministry.

Hugh was presented the Bishop`s Award By Bishop Mary Irwin-Gibson, Bishop of Montreal.  The presentation was made during the celebration of the Eucharist in Trinity Church this morning, October 22, 2017.

Hugh has faithfully served both Church and Community for about 25 years, facilitating several new programs and projects, all the while continuing steadfastly on his own journey of faith.  Hugh was nominated by the members of the PLL and is well-deserving of the honour.
